Gertrude had to be brave when she swam across the English Channel
In your fundations journal write a about a time in your life where you had to be brave.
This is an autobiography because you are writing about yourself and a real event.

What happened?
Where were you?
Who was there?
How did you feel?
Remember that even though this is a real event, you have to have a beginning, middle, and end.
You will tell us about who you are, and who the other people are by what they say and do.

Things we have to be brave about: injuries, storms, shots, going new places, doing something new, spiders, snakes, scarey animals.

December is a great month to focus on kindness. In the Metal Detective there are many kind actions. Grandma is kind to share her metal detector, Joe is kind to Ms. Choi, and in the end they all end up very happy.
I want you to write about a time you were kind to someone, or someone was kind to you.
you need to write 5-7 sentences.
-What happened: what was the situation/problem?
--Where did it happen?
-Who was involved?
-When did it happen?
-what did you do to help/what was done to help you?
-how did you feel, or make them feel?
